about Fyrkat

Fyrkat is an archaeological site made up of nine reconstructed Viking houses and a ringfort as well as a Viking cemetery. It is thought that the fort at Fyrkat was established during the reign of Harald I Bluetooth in around 980 AD.

There are also exhibitions about the history of the Vikings.

Fyrkat is located around 3.6km south of the centre of Hobro, Denmark and 72km north of Arhus.

Ticket Information:
Fyrkat is open daily, April - October, generally 10am-4pm (extended to 5pm June-August, shortened to 3pm in September). Closed 1-8 April, 14-17 April, 20-24 April, 27-30 April and, in October, it is only open from 10-18 October. Admission costs 60 DKK for adults, free for under 18s. Group concessions available.
